Governor appoints former sheriff

Gov. John Bel Edwards announced his appointments to several Louisiana boards and commissions Nov. 2.  Former sheriff Victor Jones was named to two boards.

Board of Pardons: The Board of Pardons serves the citizens of Louisiana through informed decision making, thereby promoting public safety, addressing the needs of crime victims, and to facilitate successful reentry for offenders who have appropriately prepared for community supervision.

Committee on Parole: The Louisiana Committee on Parole’s mission is to Serving the citizens of Louisiana through informed decision-making in clemency pursuits, and promoting public safety and facilitating successful reentry for returning residents.
