Make memories last with NPL’s video conversion service

297

The Natchitoches Parish Library (NPL) is now offering a video conversion service, available at its main branch at 450 Second St. Patrons may drop off a tape (at this time only VHS and 8mm/Hi8 are supported) and get it digitized and saved to either a flash drive or DVD.

At drop off, library staff will determine conversion cost, which will range from $2-6, depending on the length of the tape and chosen storage media. For security purposes, patrons must use the library-supplied storage media (this is included in the cost). After signing the video conversion service agreement, an estimated time for completion will be given. Once successfully completed, the patron’s account will be charged, and they will be notified to pick up their original and digital copy within 30 days.

Only one tape may be submitted at a time and there is no guarantee of a successful conversion, due either to the quality of the original or damage to the tape. Copywritten materials may not be submitted and the library reserves the right to deny a request for materials deemed inappropriate or a violation of the law.
