Hours for the Saturday, Dec. 5 election are from 7 a.m.-8 p.m. The amendment will be at ALL precincts. The information below explains the amendment in plain terms.
The following is important information for the Saturday, Dec. 5, 2020 Open General/Congressional/RSCC Election:
* The qualifying period for RSCC candidates was Aug. 19-21.
* The deadline to register to vote through the GeauxVote Online Registration System is Nov. 14.
Constable will be only in certain precincts.* Early voting is Nov. 20-28 from 8:30 a.m.-6 p.m. (excluding Sunday, Nov. 22, Thursday, Nov. 26 (Thanksgiving) and Friday, Nov. 27 (Acadian Day); early voting is advanced one day because of the holidays
* The deadline to request an absentee by mail ballot is Dec. 1 by 4:30 p.m. You can request an absentee by mail ballot online through our Voter Portal or in writing through your Registrar of Voters Office (other than military and overseas voters).
* The deadline for a registrar of voters to receive a voted mail ballot is Dec. 4 by 4:30 p.m. (other than military and overseas voters).
Republican State Central Committee will only be in the 31st Senatorial District. It is the same district served by Sen. Louie Bernard, so if Mr. Bernard was on the ballot in your precinct then the RSCC will be on the ballot.
You will be asked for a picture identification card to vote at the polling place. This can include a Louisiana driver’s license, a Louisiana Special ID card, LA Wallet digital driver’s license, a United States military identification card that contains the applicant’s name and picture, or other generally recognized picture identification card with your name and signature. If you do not have a picture ID, you will be asked identifying questions by the poll worker and asked to sign an identification affidavit before voting.
