L.P. Vaughn Elementary School closes school due to circumstances surrounding COVID-19

On Tuesday, Nov. 17, the Natchitoches Parish School Board made the decision to close L.P. Vaughn Elementary School due to circumstances surrounding Covid-19.

L.P. Vaughn will be closing school until Tuesday, Dec. 1. During this quarantine period, students will not be reverting to remote learning due to school closures for Thanksgiving break.

“There are 5 classes under quarantine at L.P. Vaughn,” said Superintendent, Dr. Grant Eloi. “The closure of the school is related to those quarantines but not everyone in the school is quarantined. Only those students and staff who were previously quarantined are under quarantine. All other students and staff are home due to school closure and are not under quarantine guidance.”

To ensure the safety of all students and faculty, L.P. Vaughn will be professionally cleaned during this closure. NPSB officials, would like to ensure the public that this is the best course of action to prevent a further spread of Covid-19.

NPSB will be updating the public regularly concerning cases of Covid-19 in Natchitoches Parish on their website and social media.
