City issues 74 permits valued at $3.6 million

October was a busy month for the planning and zoning permit department that issued 74 permits with a valuation of $3.6 million. The permits are listed in the monthly report of Director Shontrell Roque. The largest permit was issued to HL Natchitoches LLC, Hobby Lobby Stores Inc., for $3,023,981. The new retail store is under construction at 900 Keyser Ave. The projected opening date for the 50,000 square foot store is May of 2021. Among the permits were 10 were issued for new roofs, probably resulting from the winds of Hurricane Laura. Also notable is that there were no new home construction permits issued. Numerous permits were for electrical permits for reconnection, storm damage to meter poles or a homeowner is upgrading services to their home. The following permits and their valuations were issued:
