Bush faces additional charges in connection with theft of tires and rims

A Winn Parish man currently incarcerated in the Natchitoches Parish Detention Center on drug charges as a result of a traffic stop by Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Deputies Nov. 24 faces additional charges in connection with the theft of automotive tires and rims in north Natchitoches Parish.

On Tuesday, Dec. 1 at approximately 9:53 a.m., deputies responded to a reported theft in the 1100 block of La. Hwy 480 near Campti.

Deputies learned that someone had entered the complainant’s property and removed two Goodyear tires and rims, valued at approximately $700, off a Mazda pickup truck parked near the barn.

The complainant believed the theft occurred on or near Nov. 17.

Deputies learned Fate Vincent Bush was operating a 1999 Ford Ranger and was observed near the property during that time.

Deputies began to research Bush’s whereabouts and learned he was still incarcerated in the Natchitoches Parish Detention Center as a result of a Nov. 24 arrest for Possession of CDS I Marijuana and Possession of CDS II Methamphetamine.

As the investigation progressed, deputies learned Bush’s Ford Ranger was at a relative’s residence on Lake Drive in Campti.

Deputies located the vehicle.  With the permission of the homeowner, deputies were allowed to inspect the vehicle.

Deputies discovered the tires on the vehicle.

The complainant was contacted and positively identify the stolen tires and rims and later recovered them.

Deputies also discovered items in the rear of the truck used to facilitate the theft.

Deputies interviewed Bush at the Detention Center.

He stated he possessed the stolen tires and rims but didn’t steal them.

Deputies arrested and charged Fate Vincent Bush, 30, of St. Maurice. with 1-Count of Illegal Possession of Stolen Things.

NPSO Detectives are also assisting in the investigation.
