The Saint Mary’s Tiger men and ladies cross-country teams competed in the State meet last week and had a good outing. For the first year in recent memory, the course was dry and favorable to good times.
Senior Jensen Parker recorded an 18th place finish with a 22:42 time.
Maggie Wheat notched a personal best finishing in under 24 minutes.
Mason McCart also set a PR with a time under 20:00. The team had three scholar athletes recognized for their academic achievements during four years of high school.
Stephen Wheat, Maggie Gilmore and Jensen Parker all were recognized after the competition.
Gracie Hubley was pleased with the team stating, “The team has worked hard for the last three months and I was so proud of their performance today.” The Boys finished 11th in State and the girls had a top 10 finish at the number eight spot.
