Trandon Mitchell, the suspect in the December 2018 Texas Street Grocery murder of Robert Griffin was convicted of manslaughter in 10th Judicial District Court Dec. 15.
In early December 2018, Natchitoches Police Department received a 911 call stating a man had been shot near the Texas Street Grocery. Officers arrived and located Griffin, 23, suffering from a gunshot wound. He later died from his injuries at Natchitoches Regional Medical Center. Mitchell was sentenced to 10 years with the Dept. of Corrections, with five years suspended and placed on five years felony supervised probation.
He was further ordered to pay $1,836.50 in fines and costs and $71 monthly to Probation and Parole.
