A memorial service for Alton Edward Hightower will be at 3 p.m. Friday, Jan. 8, at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home in Natchitoches. The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. until service time in the funeral home chapel.
Alton, 82, and a resident of Robeline, passed away Jan. 1, 2021, in Bossier City. He was born Nov. 23, 1938, to Clyde and Polly Ann Flores Hightower in Robeline. He proudly served in both the U.S. Army and U.S. Navy and ultimately retired from Military Sealift Command after patriotically serving his country in Vietnam.
He is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Saffel; and brothers, Dan Hightower and Frank Hightower.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Nelly Sue Hightower; a sister, Sybil Roberts; and a brother, Charles Hightower.
