A Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Mary Llorance will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 15 at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Isle Brevelle with the Rev. Charlie Ray serving as celebrant. Entombment will follow in the St. Augustine Mausoleum under the direction of Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 9-11 a.m. at the church.
On Jan. 9, 2021, Mary was called home from the Natchitoches Community Care Center in Natchitoches, LA.
Mary was preceded in death by her mother, Mirtha Sarpy; father, John Welce Christophe; brothers, John Christophe and Herman Christophe; daughter, Bridgette Camelia Roque; spouse, Joseph Llorance Jr.; and daughter-in-law, Bonita Roque.
Mary is survived by her sister, Rosalee Christophe; son, Dan Roque Jr. (Wynee); daughter, Angela Roque; granddaughter, Jennifer Roque; and great-granddaughters, Mariah Bayonne and Kayla Bayonne.
Mary graduated from St. Matthew High School and was employed for over 20 years with the Natchitoches Parish Health Department as a nutrition aide. Mary was well known for baking such as her excellent yeast rolls and her million dollar cakes. Mary was also a member of the Confraternity of Christian Mothers.
