One man has been arrested for his involvement in the Jan. 6 breach of the Capitol building in Washington, D.C. and placed in the Natchitoches Parish Detention Center.

An FBI public information officer confirmed Tuesday that the FBI New Orleans Field Office arrested Cody P. Connell, 28, of Bossier City and booked him in the NPDC Jan. 16.

He was arrested in Jena.

Charges include failure to appear, assaulting a federal officer, obstructing law enforcement engaged in official duties incident to civil disorder, knowingly entering or remaining in any restricted building or grounds without lawful authority and violent entry and disorderly conduct on capital grounds.

The Jena Times reported over a dozen fully armed FBI agents descended upon the Bradford Street Mobile Home Park in Jena early Saturday morning, Jan. 16, where they arrested Connell. Connell was staying with a female at the park and was taken into custody by federal agents. Other than the female, it is believed he had no other connections to anyone in LaSalle Parish.
