Graveside services for Herman Prentiss Durr, 93, of Robeline will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 23 at Beulah Cemetery with Bro. Mark Megason officiating.  Services under the direction of Rockett-Nettles Funeral Home, Coushatta.

Mr. Durr was born April 8, 1927, in Robeline and passed away Jan. 20, 2021.

Mr. Durr served his country in the United States Army, stationed in Puerto Rico during WWII.  He worked for over 30 years in the mining industry for Phelps Dodge as a railroad engineer.  After retiring to Louisiana, Mr. Durr enjoyed gardening, fishing, hunting and spending time with his dogs.  At the age of 93, he was still able to ride his four-wheeler to visit with his friends.  He loved his family and will be missed by all those who knew and loved him.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Eloise “Pete” Cox Durr; parents, Kelly and Cora Durr; daughter, Allison Rainbolt; grandson, Nathan McClary; three brothers, Ernest Durr, Hilliard Durr and Coolidge Durr; and two sisters, Ollie Haskins and Mabel Smith.

Mr. Durr is survived by his children, Casey Durr of Robeline, Melissa Williams of Natchitoches and her daughters, Brooke and Taylor Williams, Joe Wagley, Diane Krass and Necie McClary all of Tucson, Ariz.; and numerous other grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
