Leila Patricia Perry Morrow of Natchitoches, La., passed away January 10, 2021, in Flower Mound, Texas, at the age of 87. A private service of Christian burial will be at Forest Park Cemetery in Shreveport, La. A memorial service to celebrate her life with family and friends will be scheduled at a later date.
Patricia was born on March 22, 1933, in Negritos, Peru. She was the eldest daughter of Robert Edward Perry and Leila Faulkner Perry.
Upon the family’s return to the United States, they relocated to north Louisiana. She attended C.E. Byrd High School in Shreveport, La., where she met the love of her life, William Thomas “Tommy” Morrow Sr. They were married in August of 1953 at Kings Highway Christian Church.
The couple moved to Natchitoches in 1965 where they settled and raised their three children. Patricia will always be remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother (Mimi).
Pat enjoyed reading, gardening and travel throughout her life. Her dear friends recall her as a gracious southern lady who was a loyal and trusted friend. She was a member of the Master Gardeners Club of Natchitoches and a lifelong naturalist. The garden was her true sanctuary and she loved sharing her many treasured plants and blooms with her friends and family.
An excerpt from one of her favorite poems by Dorothy Frances Gurney relates it best…
“The kiss of the sun for pardon,
The song of the birds for mirth
One is nearer God’s Heart in a garden,
Than anywhere else on earth.”
Patricia is survived by her two sons, William T. “Bill” Morrow Jr. and Robert E. “Bob” Morrow Sr. and wife Emily; daughter, Elizabeth Morrow Edens and husband Tom; grandchildren, Natalie Edens Laurence and husband Christopher, Ashley Morrow Schuller and husband Kyle, Ben Morrow, Bryan Edens, Robert Morrow, Brittany Morrow McLelland and husband Reid, Jason Edens and wife Mallory, and Brooks Morrow; great-grandchildren, Eden and Emmerson Laurence, Leila and Oliver Schuller and Atticus, Pierson and Perry McLelland as well as two additional blessings arriving this spring.
