Margaret Ann Holmes was born to Alvin and Hattie Edwards Holmes April 26, 1954. She and her twin were the 10th of 11 children. She departed this life Dec. 10. 2020.
She accepted Christ at an early age under the leadership of the Rev. Essie Harris at Greenville Baptist Church, Clarence.
She attended Clarence Elementary School and completed her high school education at Natchitoches Central High School in 1972. After graduation, she joined the US Marine Corps in August 1972. After being discharged from the military, she moved to Houston and worked in the medical field, then moved to Las Vegas, Nev., and worked in the hospitality and management industry. She later moved back to Clarence where she continued her work in the hospitality and management industry.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Alvin and Hattie Holmes; and sister, Bettie Small.
She leaves to celebrate her life and cherish her memory, her two brothers, Alvin Holmes Jr. (Mary) of California, and Melvin Holmes (Katherine) of Natchitoches; seven sisters, Ozzie Marie Holmes and Cora Lois Holmes of Clarence, Nola Jackson, Rosemary Holmes and Altha Faye Holden of Houston, Margie Thibodeaux (twin) of Natchitoches, Hilda Wilson of Las Vegas; special nephew, Chris Holmes; and a host of nieces, newphews and friends.
Due to COVID-19, a memorial of her life with family and friends will be later in the year when it is safe to get together again.
