The mystic and marvelous Krewe of Excellence Natchitoches extends an invitation to the public to join them as they celebrate a “socially-distanced” Mardi Gras. This will take place on the riverbanks of downtown Natchitoches Saturday, Feb. 13 starting at 2 p.m.
Krewe members in decorated cars, with police escort, will gather to form a “New Orleans Second Line” of cars traveling from Touline Street to the Riverbank Stage. Krewe members will each receive a gift basket that will help them to celebrate the season when the Krewe hosts a Zoom video conference later in the evening.
“The Honorable Ronnie Williams, Mayor of Natchitoches will be on hand to wave greetings to the cars as they process and enjoy the socially distanced fellowship. We sincerely hope that you can join us,” said Krewe President Ronald Helaire.
Please note that this is not a public event where the public is invited to participate in the car parade. The Krewe does not want to cause people to gather and be potentially unsafe.
