On Feb. 4, Shreveport City Marshals assisted the Red River Parish Sheriff’s Office (RRPSO) detectives in locating and apprehending Johnathan D. Russell at a residence in Caddo Parish. Russell was arrested on an active RRPSO warrant for Attempted Second-degree murder, Obstruction of justice, Illegal use of weapons or dangerous instrumentalities and Possession of a firearm or carrying concealed weapon by a felon.
The warrant stemmed from Russell’s involvement in an Oct. 1 attempted theft in Natchitoches Parish, which led to shots being fired at the intended victim as he pursued the suspect’s vehicle and its three occupants into Red River Parish.
Russell, b/m, 25, of Coushatta was temporarily detained in the Shreveport City Jail before transfer to the Red River Parish Jail (RRPJ) where he was booked on the above four charges, as well as the fugitive warrant from Natchitoches Parish for Criminal conspiracy. Furthermore, a hold was placed on Russell by the Natchitoches Probation and Parole Office. Russell’s total bond was set at $710,000 and he remains incarcerated in the RRPJ.
