–The NP District Attorney’s Office will be closed Wednesday/Thursday, Feb. 17-18.

–Offices of the City of Natchitoches will remain closed Thursday, February 18, 2021.

–Feb. 18 criminal court appearances are rescheduled for March 1

Due to continued extreme winter weather and ongoing utility outages, CLTCC will remain closed Thursday, February 18. Classes and operations will be suspended and reevaluated for resuming as early as Friday, February 19. Please continue to monitor CLTCC social media for the latest updates. CLTCC encourages everyone to be safe and follow the guidance in weathering this storm.

–Commissioner of Administration Jay Dardenne is announcing that state offices will be closed statewide Wednesday, February 17, due to hazardous conditions caused by severe winter weather. All agency heads are responsible for determining those essential personnel who should remain on duty, report for duty or those who should report to alternate work sites as necessary. Officials continue to monitor conditions throughout the state, and this announcement may be updated. This office closure applies to all nonessential employees, including those authorized to work from home due to COVID-19. State employees should be aware of the following phone numbers to call, which will be updated: 1.800.360.9660 or 225.342.0498.

–Tourist Commission meeting is cancelled for tonight

–The 911 Communications Commission meeting scheduled for Tuesday is cancelled due to the inclement weather conditions.  The District’s administrative offices will also be closed.

–Cane River Creole National Historical Park (Oakland and Magnolia Plantations) will be closed Tuesday, Feb. 16 and Wednesday, Feb. 17.

–Mayor Williams would like to notify the public that the offices of the City of Natchitoches will remain closed for Tuesday, February 16, 2020 due to inclement weather conditions in the city and surrounding areas that will affect our employees commute to work. Departments including Police, Fire, Utility, and Public Works will have personnel on hand in case there is a need for an emergency response.  In the event of an emergency, please call 911.  If you experience a power outage, please contact the City’s Utility Emergency Line at (318) 357-3880. Mayor Williams would like to encourage the public to stay off all roadways and bridges if possible, as tonight, temperatures are expected to drop into single digits further deteriorating road conditions.  Further updates will be posted to the City’s website and facebook page @CityofNatchitoches if necessary.

-– The Natchitoches Parish Library (NPL) will be closed through Thursday, February 18 due to the extreme winter weather expected over the next few days. The library plans to reopen Friday, February 19 for normal business hours as conditions improve. Follow the NPL’s Facebook page for the most up to date information or visit natlib.org. Items that would have incurred overdue fees this Monday-Thursday will be waived if they are returned upon the NPL’s reopening.
