Domestic dispute leads to car theft

Shafonda Murphy, b/f, 38, of Shreveport was arrested by Natchitoches Police Officers Feb. 10 and charged with armed robbery, armed robbery with a firearm, simple battery of the infirmed and theft of a motor vehicle.

Charges stem from an incident Feb. 9 involving an altercation with an 83-year-old man at his home. The victim told officers Murphy got into a verbal disagreement that escalated to Murphy wrestling him to the ground. The victim alleges Murphy kicked him several times in the stomach and chest, then pointed a firearm at him.

The victim stated she then took his vehicle keys from his pocket and left in the vehicle without his permission. Emergency services responded but the victim refused treatment.

Murphy was booked into the Natchitoches Parish Detention Center with bond set at $75,000. She was released on bond Feb. 12.
