Ruby, 85, and a long-time resident of Natchitoches, passed away March 4, 2021. She was born June 27, 1935, to Robert Lee Jones Jr. and Florence Elve Robbins Jones in Natchitoches.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Glen Ray Jordan; and a brother, Bobby Jones.
Although she worked many years as a Dietary Supervisor for the area hospital and nursing homes, her greatest occupation was being an exceptional homemaker. Her ability to cook and keep an immaculately clean home that was welcoming to all was second to none. One of her greatest joys on earth was spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and she dearly loved all of them. A member of Coldwater Baptist Church, she enjoyed fellowship with her church family as well. She will always be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister.
She is survived by her children, Denise Martin, Terry Martin, Glenn Martin and wife Sarah, and Jonise Martin-Rachal; and a sister, Jerre Antley. She was blessed with five grandchildren, Joey Martin, Cole Martin, Hannah Cupp, J.R. Rachal and Allison Andersen; and eight great-grandchildren, Ashley Rachal, Ashton Martin, Katy Martin, Bentley Martin, Justin Rachal, Brandon Rachal, Ezzard Cupp and Luke Andersen.
The family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude toward Legacy Hospice and especially Dan Dupree as well as to the staff at The Courtyard of Natchitoches for the compassionate care they provided Ruby.
