A Memorial service to honor Mike’s life will be at 7 p.m. Monday, April 5 at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 5 pm until 8 pm. Burial will be at Memory Lawn Cemetery Tuesday, April 6 at 10 a.m.
Mike McCart, 59, passed away peacefully, March 21, 2021, at Natchitoches Regional Medical Center surrounded by many family and friends after a recent battle with kidney and heart complications. He fought courageously and is now resting in peace with his Lord and Savior. Mike is an organ donor and through this selflessness, hopes to help others in need.
Mike was born April 11, 1961, in Natchitoches. He was the youngest of four children born to Othel (O.W.) McCart and Eloise Landrum McCart.
He was predeceased by his parents and brother, Walter McCart.
Mike attended Natchitoches Academy and St. Mary’s, graduating with honors from Natchitoches Central High School in 1979. He went on to attend Northwestern State University and decided to start a career with McCart Plumbing that has spanned over 30 years. He took continuing education classes for his business over this time.
Mike enjoyed having conversations with many people and loved sharing stories and pictures of his grandkids.
Mike is survived by his loving wife of 10 years, Tina Matthews McCart; and his children, Derrick McCart and wife Marci and their son Mikey of Concord, N.C., Melanie McCart Prudhomme and husband Seth their children, Gregory, Ian, Brayden and Kinsley of Natchitoches, Jake McCart and wife Susan and their children Ian, Sean and Oliver of Natchitoches, Jenny McCart Hancock and husband Chad of Charlotte, N.C., and Jeremy McCart and wife Ashley and their children, Addison, Paisley and Brody of Natchitoches; step-daughter, Rachel Coker and husband Jordon of Bossier City; sisters, Frances Hargis and husband Andy of Natchitoches and Patsy Broadway of Natchitoches; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Shriners Hospitals for Children.
