Young cowpokes compete in Regional finals

Four Natchitoches Parish youth are members of the Texas Junior High Rodeo Association in Region 5. Since September they have competed at monthly rodeos. With each top 10 placing, points were earned towards year-end standings.

Top 5 winnings also earned cash prizes. Recently, they competed in the Region 5 Finals in Nacogdoches and were awarded buckles for their year-end point winnings.

Tatum Roberts took third place chute dogging.

Adrian Nelson earned the title of Reserve Champion and won girls goat tying, seventh place in ribbon roping and 10th place in team roping.

Brooklyn Johnson was ninth place in barrel racing.

Hayden Sellers tied for fourth/fifth place in pole bending and seventh place barrel racing.

The cowgirls and cowboy earned a spot to compete in their respective events at the Texas Jr. High State Finals in Gonzales, Texas, this May with hopes to advance to the National Finals.
