Storytime with the local library

38

Did you know the Natchitoches Parish Library (NPL) has a weekly family storytime with their Children’s Librarian, Mrs. Darlene? Every Tuesday at 10:30 a.m., the NPL holds their family storytime in its third-floor meeting room. Each week features different stories, along with a related craft for children up to age five.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, sign-up is necessary to attend and space is limited. To reserve a spot, parents may message the NPL on Facebook or call the Children’s Department directly at 318-238-9222.

The NPL also offers a daily virtual storytime on its Facebook page. Each morning at 9 a.m. and every evening at 7 p.m. the library will post a video featuring a book picked from the library’s shelves. This is the perfect way for younger children to wake up or wind down. And, since each video features a new story, kids won’t get bored and can build a healthy reading habit.

For more information on children’s events and classes being offered at the NPL, you may sign up for the monthly children’s newsletter at natlib.org. Just click on the envelope icon at the bottom of the page to subscribe. Daily updates are also posted to the NPL’s Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter accounts.
