Dennis Wayne LaCaze died Monday, April 12, 2021, at the age of 61.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Dennis will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 17 at the Minor Basilica of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church of Natchitoches with the Rev. Derek Ducote serving as celebrant.  Burial will follow at Fern Park Cemetery in Natchitoches. Visitation will be Friday, April 16 from 5-9 p.m. at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home with a Holy Rosary at 6 p.m.  Visitation will resume Saturday from 11 a.m.-1:45 p.m. at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home.

A native of Virginia, Dennis was born at Fort Belvoir Army Base.  Dennis lived in Mississippi, Hawaii, Ohio and then finally in Louisiana.  As a youth, he enjoyed baseball and was a talented catcher.  He also excelled at running track for his school, St. Mary’s High School.  Dennis was a great storyteller and loved telling a good joke.

Dennis is survived by his father, John Levy LaCaze; sisters, Brenda Froisy and husband Francis of St. Amant, Michelle Goudeau and husband Jeff of Lake Charles and stepsisters, Pam Cox of Natchitoches and Brenda Curran and husband Danny of Florida; stepbrother, Gary Rigsby and wife Donna. He is also survived by Carolyn Hynes and husband Randy, Tommy Cox and wife Darla, Susan Hall and husband Tony, all of Shreveport; grandchildren, Danielle Hynes, Torrey Raines, Cassie Dalrymple and Joshua Cox; son, Lee Baird of Houston.

Dennis was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Davis LaCaze, and his mother, Betty Jemison.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers will be Randy Hynes, Wayne Spillman, Kavin LaCaze, Ryan McAlexander and Timothy Heffer.
