Three Lakeview Lady Gators were named to the LHSAA 2A All-State Team. Janaiya Fisher, the leading the scorer for Lakeview with over 20 points per game was the District Co-MVP. She was selected to the second team All-State and is the only eighth grader to make either first or second team.
Eighth grader Timberlyn Washington, District Defensive MVP, and First Team All District and junior Jameisha Fisher received Honorable Mention nods. With this level of talent from a very young team, the Lady Gators have their sights set on the prize.
Javonte Howard, the Lakeview Gators star guard, was named an Honorable Mention for the Class 2A All State Team. Howard, who averaged 20 and 6 for the Gators, was the District 3-2A Co-MVP. Howard led the Gators to the sixth seed in the playoffs, and a second straight trip to Lake Charles and the Top 28.
The Gators lost in the semi-finals to the back-to-back state champs, the Port Allen Pelicans. Howard, a junior, will return to the court his senior year.
