Zeina and Yara Younes won the doubles division

The St Mary’s Catholic School girls tennis team won Regionals April 19-20 at the ULM tennis  courts in Monroe. Zeina Younes and Yara Younes won the doubles division over St. Fred’s team L. Foote and C. Bonnecaze, 6-0, 6-0.

In girls singles finals, Emma Broadway fell short to Maddie Ware from Claiborne Christian Academy 6-3, 6-4.  In boys singles, Andrew Kautz also reached the finals. He was defeated by Eli Black 6-2, 6-1.

Altogether, St. Mary’s tennis team qualified nine players for the State Championships in Monroe April 29-30.  They are Zeina Younes and Yara Younes, Maggie Gilmore and Sheridan Pesnell, and Maggie Wheat and Mary Grace Long in girls doubles.
