After missing last season due to COVID, and the year before coming just one place short in nearly a dozen events, the Lakeview track team is headed back to Baton Rouge to make a run at some medals in the state track meet.
At Regionals, the following Lakeview students placed top three in the following events to punch their ticket to State.
Boys:
3rd: Shot Put- Udonis Jones
3rd: Triple Jump- Dillon Pikes
1st: Long Jump- Dillon Pikes
2nd: 3200m Relay- Kylin Collins, Cadien Washington, Jamarion Smith, Treyton Carter
3rd: 110m Hurdles- Alex Perry
3rd: 400m- Omarion Barnum
2nd: 1600m Relay- Andre Sowell, Omarion Barnum, Jamarion Smith, Treston Carter
•Dillon Pikes was named the Region 1-2A Most Outstanding Field Male
Girls:
2nd: Shot Put- Shakayla Browder
2nd: 300m Hurdles- Saniyah Marshall
3rd: 800m Relay- Trinity Browder, Cartina Reliford, Junyrria Powell, Timberlyn Washington
•State meet is Friday, May 7 at Bernie Moore Track Stadium at LSU, Baton Rouge.
