Flash flood watch extended through 7 p.m. today

The Flash Flood Watch has been extended through 7 pm this evening for East Texas, McCurtain County Oklahoma, much of Southwest Arkansas and North Louisiana.

Timing and Overview:

  • Scattered showers and thunderstorms will continue this morning before increasing in coverage and intensity during the afternoon through early this evening, and then will gradually diminish tonight.
  • Locally heavy rainfall will be possible. This may lead to flash flooding over Southeast Oklahoma, East Texas, and most of Southwest Arkansas and Northern Louisiana where grounds are already saturated.

Expected Accumulations:

  • Additional rainfall amounts of around an inch are possible today, with isolated higher amounts from the strongest storms.


  • Flash flooding will be possible.
