Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Office (NPSO) deputies were patrolling La. Hwy 1 near the Johnson Chute Road just north of Natchitoches Thursday, May 27 at 11:35 a.m. when they stopped a 2011 Chevrolet Cruze for speeding 74 mph in a 55 mph zone.

A La. State Police computer check revealed Berguin’s license was suspended.
During the traffic stop, deputies smelled a strong marijuana odor coming from within the vehicle.

Total weight of all narcotics was over 15 ounces.
Berguin claimed ownership of the large bag of suspected marijuana.
