La. State Police Troop G investigated a single-vehicle fatal crash on U.S. Hwy. 84 east of Logansport June 2.
This crash claimed the life of Seth Sloan, 15, of Mansfield, who was unrestrained.
The initial investigation revealed a 2012 Dodge Challenger, driven by a 17-year-old, was traveling eastbound on Hwy. 84.
For reasons still under investigation, the juvenile driver lost control and exited the roadway before colliding with a concrete retaining wall.
The driver was restrained and sustained minor injuries. Routine toxicology samples were collected and will be submitted for analysis. The crash remains under investigation.
In 2021, Troop G has investigated 11 fatal crashes, resulting in 11 deaths.
