Clarence D. Langlina Jr., also known as “Blue” and “Buddy”, 88, of Campti, passed away Tuesday, June 22, 2021 at Willis-Knighton North in Shreveport.  Arrangements are being handled by Rockett-Nettles Funeral Home.  Funeral service will be at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Campti at 11 a.m. Friday, June 25 with Father Dutch Voltz officiating.  Interment will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time Friday at the church.

Clarence has left us to live eternally with God and his family and friends that preceded him. He will always be remembered for his love for God, his family and all of his many friends.  He also loved sports, especially baseball and fishing.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Mary Hennessey Langlina, and father, Clarence D. Langlina Sr.; brother, Henry Jacob Schmitt and wife Edna; sister, Mary Langlina Choquette and husband Walter; and several nieces and nephews.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Barbara Smith Langlina, and dog “Lucy.”

He was a member of VFW Post #7307 in Marrero and was in the Air Force for four years.  He worked at Avondale Shipyard, Offshore and the Natchitoches Parish Police Jury until retirement Oct. 1, 1997.

Pallbearers will be Eddie Brown, Ed Smith, Ronald Dale Smith, Greg Cochran, Jerry Hernandez and Jared Allen.  Honorary pallbearers will be Russell Bozeman, Moochie Allen, Curtley Alexander, Troy Johnston and Michael Mondello.

Food will be served at the church following the graveside services.

In lieu of flowers, the family is asking donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
