DOTD has a $3.5 million project to patch, mill and overlay La. 6 from its intersection with La. 1 to its intersection with La. 504, just east of I-49, approximately 3 miles of roadway improvements. Patching addresses certain sections of damaged road to repair those spots prior to the mill (removal of a designated amount of asphalt), and the asphalt overlay that motorists will eventually drive on. Contractor is Madden Construction. There are 90 working days in this project, excluding weekends and holidays.

“We anticipate wrapping up the project in late 2021, with progress always dependent on weather conditions,” said DOTD Public Information Officer Erin Buchanan. Intermittent lane closures will be necessary to allow for the contractor to safely and efficiently complete the work, so motorists should be aware of the active construction zone if traveling through the area.
