The Tribal Power Lifting Club of Natchitoches recently competed at the Bon Temps Raw Power Challenge in Abbeville July 18.
The meet was a local and Louisiana State competition under the USA Powerlifting Organization, which is a major National and International Organization of the sport and home to all Collegiate Powerlifting Programs.
Nine local high school lifters made the trip and competed at the CrossFit Verse venue for the meet.
Seven lifters achieved medals.
Mackenzie Johnson, a 2021 LHSAA State Champion, won first place and achieved new Louisiana Raw records for her weight class in squat, bench, deadlift and total.
Nathan Lovemore, a 2021 Central Regional Qualifier, won first place and set a new Louisiana State Raw record for his weight class on the bench.
Team members Ethan Lemoine won first, Noah Martinez took second, Kaeveon Pichon, third, Taylor Eubanks, fourth, Alexx Gibson, fourth, Ethan Hudson, fourth, and Summer Richardson placed sixth in their individual weight divisions.
