Dec. 8, 1940-July 29, 2021
Robert Scott Stiefvater, known to all as Bob, passed away July 29, 2021, in Alexandria at the age of 80. He was born Dec. 8, 1940, to Herbert and Helen Louise Price Stiefvater in McCamey, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 49 years, June Mary Giddens Stiefvater; and two brothers, Danny Stiefvater and Mike Autrey.
He honorably served in the United States Navy and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He retired from the Navy after 20 years of service at the rank of Master Chief Petty Officer. 
He is survived by his son, Robert “Joey” Stiefvater and wife Teresa; a daughter, Diana Stoker; grandsons, Garritt Stoker and wife Taylor and Corey Stiefvater; granddaughters, Christin and Emma Stiefvater, Karlie and Cameron Stoker; great-granddaughters, Makayla and Laila; and a sister, Kerry Cauley; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
Military honors will be performed at 7 p.m. Monday Aug. 2 in the chapel of Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home.
