The Parish Council will hold a special called meeting Friday, Aug. 6 at 2 p.m., via teleconference to consider an ordinance authorizing the purchase of servitudes from two private property owners related to resurfacing Fish Hatchery Road Project. To dial into the meeting, call (425)436-6302, The PIN is 780273. The ordinance would also authorize the parish president to sign and execute documents.
The total cost for the two servitude acquisitions and other necessary items is estimated to be no more than $10,500. The property will be appraised to determine fair market value. While the Cane River Waterway Commission (CRWC) has agreed to pay the increased contract price of $2,149,685, that includes four change orders, the commissioners decided at the July 20 meeting that its funding commitment was limited to the construction contract amount.

Those change orders, related to drainage, were for $9,400, $48,710, $30,980 and $5,400. It will be necessary for Parish Government to provide funding for the servitude costs. Fish Hatchery Road is receiving a new base and pavement and drainage system. The project should be completed by the end of October.
