April 1, 1933 – Aug. 24, 2021

Lovingly known as Polito or Papa by his family, Paul O’Con brought joy to all who had the pleasure of knowing him. He was born in Spanish Lake to Maggie Rodrigues O’Con and James Peter O’Con and lived in Powhatan most of his life.

Paul was an avid fisherman and hunter. He helped his father and brother with auto mechanic work and worked as a ranch hand in the Powhatan area. He succumbed to complications due to Alzheimer’s disease at the age of 88 in Shreveport Aug. 24, 2021.

Paul is survived by his sister, Retha O’Con McLean, and many nieces, nephews, great and great-great nieces and nephews.

Paul was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Lee Roy O’Con, Victor Joseph O’Con, Reed James O’Con and Louis Eugene O’Con; and his sister, Agnes O’Con Corrales.

The family will receive visitors from 5–8 p.m. with a Rosary at 7 p.m. Aug. 27 at Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home in Natchitoches.  Funeral services will be Aug. 28 at 10 a.m. at the funeral home with interment to follow at Memory Lawn Cemetery in Natchitoches.
