Due to the concerns for those students and families with serious medical conditions, the Natchitoches Parish School Board will be opening Covid Virtual registration for students kindergarten through 5th grade. NPSB will also be re-opening registration for 6th-12th virtual learning. Students will either qualify for NVA selective enrollment or Covid-19 virtual enrollment.
Covid 19 virtual enrollment is in response to the surge of the Delta variant and may be dissolved as circumstances change. Online registration will begin Monday, Aug. 30 and run through Friday, Sept. and can be found at https://npsb.la/natchitoches-virtual-academy. Priority will be given to those families who can provide documentation of serious medical conditions, either for their student or someone in their domicile. Once applications are received and processed, parents will then be informed of their child’s status. Online classes will begin on Monday, Sept. 13.
NPSB still believes based on data and consultation with physicians that face-to-face learning, with mitigation measures in place, is safe. Furthermore, NPSB believes face to face learning is a superior learning model but wants to recognize and address the serious concerns of many parents who have underlying health conditions.
