Natchitoches Central is off to a 3-0 start for the first time since 1996. Chiefs are being led offensively by Caylin Demars with 389 yards and 5 touchdowns and BJ Young scoring 3 touchdowns on the ground last week and throwing for another. In the trenches, the Chiefs are led by O-lineman Carey Johnson and D-lineman James Jackson.

Justin Aaron leads the defense with 36 tackles and 2 interceptions followed by Logan Saucier with 26 tackles and a fumble recovery. NCHS defense has only allowed 218 yards on the year through 3 games.

“It’s been a good week leading up to our district opener. The boys have kept a level head and not let success get to them,” said head coach James Wilkerson. “I think we all know the challenge ahead, and little step up in competition, nothing against our other opponents. They’re a spread team with a very athletic quarterback who can hurt you with his feet. Solid offensive line with good receivers. Defensively they give you multiple looks, their D-line is their strong point and the anchor of the defense and that’s always been a strong stickling point with Airline, that defensive line makes them go. So we have to be prepared for that, we have to be able to stalemate those D-linemen. Defensively, we have to make some big plays and keep the quarterback contained. I expect them to come out fired up looking for their first win and it being homecoming.”
