The Historic District Business Association continues their efforts in hosting the 15th Annual Natchitoches Car Show. This year’s show will take place this weekend, Oct. 1-2, in Downtown Natchitoches. The Natchitoches Car Show started in 2007 with 88 cars and by 2011 the number had increased to 325. Since then, the car count has reached over 400. Expectations are high as the 2021 show approaches.
The Natchitoches Car Show was named a Top 20 Festival and Event by the Southeast Tourism Society for 2020. On Friday, Oct. 1, registration will be at the Fountain of Life Pentecostal Church located at 4500 University Parkway from noon-7 p.m. Once registered, participants are invited to cruise around town for the annual poker run followed by a fish fry and live music on the Riverbank at 5:30 p.m. While Friday’s activities are geared toward the participants, spectators can still catch a preview of many of the classic cars that will be on display Saturday. On Saturday, Oct. 2, registration will continue from 7-11 a.m. at the church.
The car show will take place from 7 a.m.-4 p.m. The public is invited to attend the show which will spread throughout Downtown along the Riverbank Front Street, and a portion of Second Street. Live music will be provided from three stages throughout the show area. At 4 p.m., awards will be announced from the Downtown Riverbank Stage. As always, spectator admission is free.
HDBA encourages participants and spectators to adhere to safe social distance practices while attending the show. For more information about the Natchitoches Car Show, visit www.natchitochescarshow.com or call the Natchitoches Main Street Office at 318.357.3822.
