Mrs. Aline Vascocu, 87, of Chestnut was called to her heavenly home Oct. 8, 2021. She was born Sept. 3, 1934, to James Friday and Myrtle Weaver Friday.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. today, Monday, Oct. 11 at Rockett-Nettles Funeral Home, Coushatta, with the Rev. Olan McLaren officiating. Burial to follow at Weaver Cemetery in Chestnut.

Aline married Aubrey “Jena” Vascocu Sept. 10, 1952.

She was a member of Pilgrim Home Baptist Church and retired from the US Postal Service. Aline, who was Mama, Mawmaw and Teetle to many, loved her family more than anything. She was a friend to many and loved visiting with her friends. Aline was an excellent cook and many good meals have been served at the Vascocu household. She had a personality that would light up any room and a laugh that was contagious.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jena Vascocu; all her brothers and sisters, Erline, Bill, Robert, Ruth, S.L. and Sam; and special niece, Patsy Friday.

She is survived by her sons, Robert Vascocu, Ronnie Vascocu and wife Debra, and Charles Vascocu and wife Debbie, all of Chestnut; grandchildren, Carmen Vascocu, Dusty Vascocu and wife Lindsey, Jana Vascocu and husband Colt, Summer Vascocu and Duane, Lucas Vascocu and wife Shelby, and Taylor Vascocu and Kallie; great-grandchildren, Chelsea, Cassidy, Chaylie, Logan, Truett, Daily, Cash, Kruz, Drake, Chandler and Beau; and great-great granddaughter, Hayven; and will be highly missed by Buster.

Pallbearers are Taylor Vascocu, Lucas Vascocu, Dusty Vascocu, Carson Friday, Danny Thomas and Joe Stewart.

Honorary pallbearers are Shelby Gardner, Jerry Hines, Jerry Smith, Bubba Powell, Ed Born and Glenn Friday.

The family wishes to express a special thanks to Fresenius Dialysis, Dr. Coleman, Dr. Carter, Christus Coushatta and Christus Highland.
