Funeral service for Mrs. Belva Jean (Lauw) Welch will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 13, 2021, in the chapel of Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home with Bro. Danny Forsythe officiating.  Burial will follow at Good Hope Cemetery near Anacoco. The family will receive friends from 9-10 a.m. at the funeral home.

Belva, 70, and a long-time resident of Robeline, passed away Oct. 28, 2021.  She was born July 7, 1951, to Atwood Lauw and Retha Marine Downs Lauw in Pleasant Hill.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Alvin Earl Lauw and a niece Angie Welch.

For over 30 years Belva worked as a bookkeeper for Valley Co-Op and truly loved working with the public. She met and fostered so many friendships while on her job and throughout the course of her life because she had such a sweet and genuine personality. A great woman of faith, she loved her Lord and Savior with all her heart. Although Belva never had children, she loved all her nieces and nephews like they were her own. She was especially close to Elizabeth Randolph because Belva took a very active part in raising her.  Proverbs 31:26 truly described Belva, She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue. She will be dearly missed by all that knew and loved her.

She is survived by her husband of nearly 50 years, Jessey Welch; her sister, Martha Bova of Marthaville; nieces and nephews, Chris Daniels and wife Melinda of Marthaville, Tommy Daniels and wife Janis of Robeline, Steven Randolph and wife Angela of Robeline, Phillip Daniels and wife Wendy of Mansfield, Dustin Lauw and wife Cheryl of Harker Heights, Texas; as well as Anita, Ronald, Rusty, Rodney, Marty, Haley, Alvin, Sandra, Avis, Renee, Quanta, Patrick, Michael, Michelle, Ashleigh, Kathryn, Dillon, Elizabeth, Cordell, Willow, Jacey, Emily, Abigail and Austin.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers include Chris Daniels, Tommy Daniels, Steven Randolph, Dillon Daniels, Ronald Welch and Marty Welch.
