DEMARS, ALVERIOUS, b/m, 28, aggravated battery: sentenced to five years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections (DOC) to run concurrent with any time currently serving, credit for time served. Charges of intimidating a witness and assault by drive-by shooting dismissed as part of plea agreement. DA Billy Joe Harrington represented the State. Kathryn Cooper was appointed counsel for the defendant. Judge Lala Sylvester on the bench.
