The Tigers took advantage of the Lakeview QB and never let their foot off the gas. Lakeview was unable to advance any score throughout last Friday’s matchup. 26-0 was the score at halftime, and head coach Brandon Helms felt the heat from a tough and improved Winnfield team.

“Turnovers hurt us,” Helms said. “We gave up a pick six, and also gave up a special teams touchdown.” Despite the injuries, Helms said he’s proud of the Gators and their fight all season.

“The kids played hard,” said Helms. “We are so beat up, but the kids keep fighting. I just feel for those who are hurt and can’t play.”

Lakeview drops to 1-8 overall and 0-3 in District 3-2A games. They face top-ranked and reigning 2A state champion Many Friday, Nov. 5 in The Swamp at 7 p.m.
