Milton Helaire, Sr., 64, of Natchitoches, passed away Nov. 9, 2021.

He was born to Overton Helaire and Pearl Davis-Helaire Oct. 15, 1957, in Natchitoches. He was preceded in death by both parents and one of his siblings, Mae Ethel Helaire-Branch. He was the youngest of his siblings to whom he was affectionately known as “Two-Jack” and “Pop.” Milton grew up in Natchez, La., and was raised by his maternal grandfather, Horace Davis (Francis).

Milton loved being around family and friends. He enjoyed listening to music and swinging out on the dance floor. He loved sports and was a big fan of the New Orleans Saints. Milton was a little man with a “big heart.” He was full of fun, laughter, and was always a shoulder to lean on for advice. In his lifetime, you would never know that he was going through anything, because his life was dedicated to helping others.

His loving memories will be cherished by his four sons, Milton Helaire Jr. (Sonja), Timothy Helaire (Simone), Quinten Helaire (Ashley) and Milton Helaire of Natchitoches; two daughters, Yerasha Helaire-Wilson (Greg) of Winnfield and Glemeris Williams of Houston; one brother, Raymond Helaire of Natchitoches; three sisters, Mary Frances Helaire and Helen Helaire of Houston and Carolyn Helaire-Pryor (Tommy) of Shreveport; 12 grandchildren; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
