Natchitoches Parish notches five participants to play in this year’s Interstate 20 Bowl. Among the names on the roster is Saint Mary’s free safety Graeme Fidelak, awarded to first team District 3-1A All District.
Natchitoches Central adds to their success as three players and an assistant coach were selected. Running back Caylin Demars, wide receiver and free safety Justin Aaron, defensive lineman James Jackson and defensive backs coach Mark Anding will represent the Chiefs. Demars, Aaron and Jackson all earned first team District 1-5A All-District in the 2021 season.
The Chiefs, led by head coach James Wilkerson, struck a 7-3 overall record and a playoff berth in Wilkerson’s second season as head coach. “I am excited and proud for those young men and Coach Anding getting the opportunity to participate in the game,” Wilkerson said.
“It will be a great experience for all of them and it will be an added memory to an already memorable year. I think anytime you get players and coaches getting some individual recognition, it helps your program overall. It is positive for our players to see their teammates playing in these games. I am excited for our guys getting the recognition they deserve, and I know they are excited about the opportunity.”
The I-20 Bowl will kickoff at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 19 at Hoss Garrett Stadium in Ruston.
