Campti Mayor LaRon Winslow hosted a Christmas tree lighting ceremony and welcomed guests and dignitaries attending. They included Sheriff Stuart Wright, Natchitoches Council person-at-large Betty Smith, Ed Ward Jr. of Natchitoches escorted Clara Caldwell, Campti Chief of Police Gregory Eldridge and Campti Councilperson Bence Telsee Nicholas, who was chairperson/coordinator of the ceremony.

This event was Saturday, Dec. 11 on Edenborne Street.
Community members contributing to the event included Campti’s Town Maintenance crew; Marty Lowing and Myrtle Procell, Nicholas’ family members and all who donated ornaments and gifts for the children.
Special ornaments were donated by the Natchitoches Tribe of Louisiana, made by Vice Chief Janette Melton.
Treat bags were made from candy donations from various donors, including City Bank & Trust Campti branch. Hot cocoa and Christmas cookies were served.
