No. 1 Lakeview defeats St. Mary’s, retains remarkable 11-0 start

Fireworks and more are not only seen in the city of Natchitoches, but rather a few miles north in Campti. The Class 2A No. 1 Lady Gators struck a commanding 87-32 win over Division IV opponent Saint Mary’s Dec. 14.

LHS ended the night with 87 points, followed by 18 rebounds, 19 assists, 22 steals and two blocks. Contributing to the high stack of points was freshman point guard Janaiya Fisher with 37.

Freshman shooting guard Timberlyn Washington recorded 24 points while senior Jameisha Fisher scored 10.   A well-rounded victory for the Lady Gators foreshadows the upcoming district 3-2A games coming up at the beginning of the new year.

Considering Lakeview’s domination in all 11 starts this season, there will be lots to look forward to for the Lady Gators.

LHS faces 3A opponent Wossman at the start of the new year Jan. 13 at 6 p.m. in Monroe.
