Chiefs rout Bulldogs, hit top 10 in 5A power rankings


Natchitoches Central boys basketball won their seventh game of the season beating Red River 60-43 in the TeePee Tuesday, Dec. 21. With the win, the Chiefs make the Louisiana High School Athletic Association’s Class 5A Top 10 for the first time this season. Shooting guard Dalyn Davis scored 24 points and seven rebounds.

With13 points, six assists, five rebounds and three steals, point guard Justin Aaron pulled through again for NCHS in the win. Also making contributions was shooting guard Caylin Demars’ 13 points, six rebounds and four assists and Devin Helaire’s six points and 11 rebounds.

The new No. 4 in the Class 5A rankings is made from a battle-tested Chiefs team that’s eager for their next opponent and ready for District 1-5A matches starting in the New Year. NCHS holds on to their five-game win streak as they head into 2022.
