Ronald D. Neugent, a lifelong resident of Robeline, died in Christus St. Francis Cabrini Hospital in Alexandria Dec. 16, 2021 at the age of 74.

Ronald was a proud United States Army veteran and served in Vietnam from 1966-68.He was a truck driver for 47 years at Acme Brick Company in Alexandria. He loved to fish, hunt and watch all sports, especially football.

He is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Annette Slaughter Neugent; children, Tracey Freeman (Delane) of Denham Springs and Jeremy Neugent (Natalie) of Ebarb; one sister, Olivia Diane Adams of Robeline; one brother, James “Tommie” Neugent of Ebarb; one stepson, Gary Dean Brasell of Natchitoches; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, W.J. “Bill” Neugent and Gracie “Nad” Neugent; brother, Jerry Wayne Neugent; and stepson Daryl Blenn Brasell.

Special thanks to the doctors, nurses and chaplain at Christus St. Francis Hospital for their compassionate care of Ronald and me.

Thank you for the heartfelt service honoring him for his service to his country with Taps (Red, White and Blue) and the flag draped over him.

A memorial service will be conducted by his children at a later date.
