ER not for Covid testing

Over 1,000 tested at Walk In Clinic in three days

COVID-19 testing continues according to Natchitoches Regional Medical Center CEO Kirk Soileau.
“We need to get the message out for people to not go to the emergency room because they are exposed.  This is tying up access to critical services,” Soileau said.

The Walk In Clinic (WIC) on Keyser Avenue tests every day.
The drive-thru testing at the WIC is Mondays and Thursdays from 1-5 p.m.
In three sessions, the clinic screened 1,114 with a 30 percent positivity rate. This does not take into account people who are opting for self-testing at home.
Screening should be done for symptoms, not exposure.  That is the practice that “all” healthcare organizations use.  Thus, the free drive-thru screening is perfect for someone that may have been exposed and has concerns.
