In the last three years the Mr. Crappie Invitational has raised the bar for all crappie tournament anglers across the country. The Red River is an amazing fishery that has lots of crappie, proven by the results of the 2021 Mr.Crappie $250,000 Invitational.
Marketing Director for the Red River Waterway Commission Eric Gilmore said, “I am excited that our Commissioners have committed to bring the Mr. Crappie franchise back to the Red River. The 2021 Crappie Expo in Shreveport was a historic event and to be able to bring this event and these anglers to another part of the Red River is great for our community. The economic impact of these events is tremendous for our community. The Red River Waterway Commission has sponsored the biggest events in the fishing world and the Mr. Crappie Qualifier continues the Commissions commitment to the economic and recreational development of the Red River District.”
Weigh-ins will be at the Grand Ecore Recreational Area and the downtown riverbank.
